Data Informed Decision Making
The Curriculum, Instruction and Professional Development Division is available to provide assistance to school and school districts in understanding the principles of data informed decision making, and in the development of action plans to improve academic achievement.
PA Value-Added Assessment System (PVAAS)
The Curriculum, Instruction and Professional Development Division is available to assist districts with The Pennsylvania Value-Added Assessment System. This system is one tool provided by PDE as a measure of growth/progress and as a complement to existing achievement measures. Value-Added Analysis is a statistical method used to measure the influence of a district and school on the academic progress rates of individual students and groups of students from year-to-year. Data reports are available for all districts to use for local decision-making.
