Grants Development

The intent of Grants Development Division is to help our school districts write creative grants with a practical approach that can help their administration and teachers fund new projects and resources for their schools.

The primary activities of the Grants Development include:

§  Assistance to school districts and the MCIU in identifying grants

§  Applying for grants supportive of MCIU and District goals

§  Building, strengthening and exercising district grant writing capabilities

§  Researching potential funding sources

§  Maintaining recipient status with Education Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC)

§  Providing Grant Writing Workshops

§  Introduction to the Foundation Center

o   Assistance in navigating and learning the Foundation Center process

§  Establishing relationships and working successfully with collaborating partners

§  Proofreading proposals

§  Ensuring content meets all requirements

§  Evaluating proposals

§  Assistance in development grant budgets
