Discovery Education Streaming Video Content
Discovery Education leads the way in providing high quality, dynamic digital content to school districts. It is the most comptehensive digital video-on-demand and online teaching resource available to day.
Elluminate
Elluminate Live! is a web conferencing tool that provides a live, online virtual classroom environment. It can be used to teach online classes or as a live supplement to other online classroom environments, such as Moodle or Blackboard.
MCIUTube
MCIUTube was developed for schools to have a safe place to upload video content to share among students and other schools without fear of the students seeing inappropriate material.
Content is hosted on the Technology and Information Services (TIS) servers. This has three distinct advantages for the MCIUTube end-user. First, and most importantly, it frees up the network and storage resources of the end-user. Second, all content upload and viewing access can be controlled, monitored, and assigned to appropriate group users. Third, the interface can be branded with your own logo making the look and feel transparent.
In addition to the MCIUTube hosting package, TIS can help you with the production of original content. TIS staff are available to support you with script development, production, and post-production services.
Media Duplication and Transfers
MCIU will provide duplication and format transfer services for DVD’s, CD’s, VHS, and ¾” videotapes. In addition, we can provide international standard video conversions (PAL, SECAM, NTSC) for international video exchanges.
Multimedia Development and Editing
MCIU provides assistance with the development and production of the client’s multimedia presentations. Our assistance can encompass everything from the concept stage to the finished product. Multiple media formats are supported including Video, Audio, and PowerPoint presentations.
Personal Videoconference
The Polycom CMA Desktop is high quality desktop video communications that is as easy to use as instant messaging.
SAFARI Montage
Using a SAFARI server at MCIU, we will provide Montgomery County public school districts with award-winning, broadcast-quality, Video-On-Demand solutions. Educational video titles including some of the industry's leading video publishers; school districts can also upload their own video content.
Streaming Video Services/On-Demand Viewing
MCIU provide a wide range of streaming services. These services include technical support for the streaming of live events, onsite technical support and setup services, and the ability to capture, encode, and archive live streams for on-demand viewings.
Videoconferencing Facilitation
MCIU offers a "Smart Classroom" available for district use which features an electronic whiteboard and videoconferencing unit. Through our partnership with MAGPI at the University of Pennsylvania, many distance learning events are made available to the county.
