This program is designed for disabled students 5–21 years of age whose primary identified need is to develop skills for independent living. Children in the Life Skills Program generally demonstrate moderate cognitive disabilities and require concrete and functional instruction. Emphasis is placed on functional academics, daily living, self-care, life skills, communication, self-advocacy skills, and vocational training.
The Life Skills Support Program seeks to fully develop each student’s potential by recognizing their individuality and providing an educational program that challenges students to become life long learners. The collaborative effort of families, schools, and the community help foster the personal development of each student so they may become independent members of the school and community.
