Activities conducted by the Intermediate Unit Office of State and Federal Liaison Services include:
- Liaison activities (proactive and reactive) among Montgomery County boards of education, chief school officers, legislators, legislative staff, and representatives of educational organizations and agencies throughout the Commonwealth.
- Identification, review, and analysis of state and federal legislation, as well as items of proposed rule-making potentially affecting education in Montgomery County and the Commonwealth.
- Dissemination of information to boards of education and chief school administrators relative to legislative, congressional, judicial, and executive activities impacting on Montgomery County and the Commonwealth.
- Resource activities for the Montgomery County School Districts and Intermediate Unit, including but not limited to, conducting legislative research, drafting of legislative and testimony and special presentations.
